A drayage driver app with one button, not a manual
Today's trip, the gate pin, the appointment window and directions, in the driver's own language. POD and EIR photos upload even with no signal.
Built for drivers at the port
Drivers do not want another app to learn. They want to know where to go, what to pick up, and what pin to give at the gate. The DrayTech driver app shows exactly that, and very little else.
What drivers see
- The current trip: container, size, terminal and where it is going
- The gate pin and window, booked by DrayTech and updated if it changes
- The next stop with distance, time and directions
- One big button for the next step of the trip
- Documents for the load, and a place to add photos
Login is by phone number with a one-time text code. No usernames, no shared passwords.
GPS that moves the board
The app uses background GPS, or the truck's Samsara tracker when you have one. Geofences around terminals, yards and customers stamp arrive and depart times on each leg and move the leg forward on the dispatch board. Dispatchers see where each load stands without calling the driver.
Those arrive and depart times also become a GPS report you can attach to a detention bill.
POD and EIR photos, even with no signal
Terminals and warehouses often have poor coverage. Drivers take POD and EIR photos in the app, and if there is no signal, the photos wait in a queue on the phone. When coverage comes back, they upload on their own and attach to the right shipment. Billing gets the paperwork without chasing anyone.
Chat with dispatch
The app has built-in team chat. Drivers can message dispatch one to one or in groups, and send photos and files. Conversations stay in the company's system instead of scattered across personal phones.
Drivers' own language
Many drayage drivers are more comfortable in a language other than English. The DrayTech driver app works in English, Spanish and Chinese today, and more languages are on the way.
Each driver picks a language in settings.
Document expiry alerts
Licenses and other driver documents expire. DrayTech sends a heads-up to the driver and to site dispatch before a document on file runs out, so nobody finds out at a roadside check.
For company drivers and owner-operators
The same app works for company drivers and owner-operators. Driver pay is calculated per leg in the office, so drivers get paid for the moves they actually ran. See drayage billing and driver pay.
Works with appointments
Because terminal appointments are booked from the shipment, the pin is already in the app when the driver starts the trip. If a pin expires or the empty is routed to another terminal, the app shows the change.
What dispatch sees
Everything the driver does shows up in the office right away. The dispatch board shows where each driver is, which leg they are on, and when they arrived and left each stop. Photos land on the shipment, so billing can send the invoice without asking the driver for paperwork. When a dispatcher reassigns a load, the trip changes on the driver's phone. Nobody has to call to confirm.
Download
The DrayTech driver app is available for iPhone and Android. Drivers sign in once their carrier adds them to DrayTech.
Frequently asked questions
Is the DrayTech driver app free for drivers?
Drivers download it for free. It works once their carrier uses DrayTech and adds them as a driver.
Does the app work without a signal?
Yes for photos. POD and EIR photos are saved on the phone and upload automatically when coverage returns.
Which languages does the driver app support?
English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, French, Haitian Creole, Tagalog, Punjabi and Hindi.
Do I need Samsara to use GPS?
No. DrayTech uses Samsara GPS when you have it and the driver's phone GPS when you do not.
